Coastal Bluffs
The District works with local, state, and federal agencies to create educational and technical nature-based strategies to protect Maine’s shorelines for municipalities, businesses, and residents.

As part of a 2025-2026 National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant, the District works with local, state, and regional partners to continue improving municipal and landowner resources to protect Maine’s shorelines for public safety, recreational, commercial, and other uses.
Materials developed are hosted on the Greater Portland Council of Government’s project webpage.

The District collaborated with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry’s Maine Coastal Program and the Maine Geological Survey on the Build Resiliency Along Maine’s Bluff Coast project.
