Windham Students Study Water Quality

Our District Educator visited Windham 6th graders with a lesson on the different parameters scientists check to know the health of our water. Students visited stations around the classroom to observe different simulated levels of algae, clarity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, harmful bacteria, and harmful chemicals and predict what level would keep the water safe for plants and animals (including us!).

This lesson was funded through a partnership with the Portland Water District.
