Education Wrap-Up
It’s been an incredible year for natural resource education in Cumberland County! After joining the CCSWCD Team in early 2025, Kristie Munson hit the ground running as District Educator, taking on the challenge of teaching thousands of students across Cumberland County about the importance of water and soil health. With classroom work and lessons out in the field, Kristie brought students along on adventures raising and releasing brook trout in local streams, teaching summer campers about the water cycle, and leaving local kids with the knowledge they need to become future stewards of clean water and soils in their own communities.
If you haven’t seen Kristie in the classroom, it becomes clear when you witness her in action- her enthusiasm is contagious! She brings an element of interest and so much excitement, sharing her expertise and easily connecting with students. One student recently shared with Kristie, “ I wanna be like you when I grow up.”
4,000 students. 10,000 hours. We are proud to reflect on this impact in our community in 2025, and look forward to bringing more lessons to more students in 2026!
