We are excited to share that Heather Huntt, Senior Project Manager at the Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District (CCSWCD), will be taking the stage as a featured speaker at the upcoming Watershed Managers Roundtable.
The Watershed Managers Roundtable is a premier annual event hosted by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). It brings together key conservation partners across the state—including representatives from local municipalities, state and federal agencies, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, local watershed associations, and private-sector environmental consultants—to exchange insights and collaborate on fresh strategies for protecting Maine’s water resources.
Highlighting Clean Water Act Projects and Local Impact
At this year's roundtable, Heather will highlight key lessons, field successes, and innovative techniques from our recent watershed restoration and planning efforts across Cumberland County, specifically Nature-Based Strategies.
Heather’s expertise in managing complex erosion control, water quality monitoring, and community-driven watershed management projects makes her perspective invaluable to colleagues across Maine working to tackle similar environmental challenges.
District Staff Joining the Conversation
Heather won't be attending alone! A contingent of staff members from the Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District will be joining the roundtable to participate and learn from colleagues across the state.
Events like the Watershed Managers Roundtable ensure our team stays on the cutting edge of watershed science and policy while continuing to build strong regional networks. We look forward to bringing back new insights, strengthened partnerships, and actionable strategies to continue preserving Cumberland County's land and water resources!
