The Cumberland County Soil & Water Conservation District is officially looking for passionate new leaders to join our Board! As a Board candidate, you’ll get to help guide on-the-ground conservation efforts where they matter most: in our community’s lakes, streams, farms, and neighborhood yards.

What’s involved?

We know you're busy, so we keep things streamlined and impactful:

• The Commitment: We meet just once a month (every third Wednesday evening) for a 1-to-2-hour session to make key financial and programmatic decisions that support our amazing District staff.

• Go Deeper (Optional!): Want to roll up your sleeves even more? You can volunteer on one of our dynamic subcommittees, including:

  • Strategic Planning

  • Maine Stormwater Conference

  • Youth Education

  • Parking Lot Demonstration Garden

The Golden Rule: To join us, you just need to be a current resident of Cumberland County and bring a passion for protecting our local environment!
