100 Resilient Yards in South Portland

The City of South Portland partnered with us, Maine Audubon, Osborne Organics, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Garbage to Garden, Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners, Wild Seed Project, and Friends of Casco Bay to install 100 resilient gardens around the city. The gardens included rain gardens, pollinator gardens, native plantings, organic lawns, and raised vegetable gardens.

The District provided technical support through site selection, site visits, site designs, volunteer trainings, volunteer management, and site installation. Check out the amazing project website for gardening resources, program information, and site transformation pictures!
